Selective Staffing Solutions has partnered with a global leader in food manufacturing to hire a Maintenance Supervisor for their Buffalo, NY production facility. This role is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations within the Production and Packaging departments, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall plant efficiency.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate the activities of Production and Packaging Mechanics and provide leadership in maintaining plant equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This role is key in developing preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and packaging maintenance operations within the plant.
  • Coordinate and supervise Production & Packaging Mechanics to ensure timely and effective maintenance support.
  • Develop and implement systems to respond to maintenance issues across manufacturing equipment and support systems.
  • Establish and manage preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with plant management to develop policies, procedures, and operational goals.
  • Review technical issues and departmental procedures, recommending improvements and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate equipment, tools, and maintenance processes to ensure optimal service levels to the plant.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts at both hands-on and engineering levels.
  • Recruit, train, and develop maintenance staff to build a skilled and effective team.
  • Assess employee skill levels and recommend training and development opportunities.
  • Support other plant functions as needed, in coordination with the Assistant Maintenance Manager.
  • Actively participate as a member of the plant management team and contribute to operational decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dairy or food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and software applications.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to meet production and quality goals

  • Utilize inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment to verify tolerances
  • Monitor production output, machine performance, scrap levels, and overall department efficiency
