Shifts:B-Shift- (7pm-7am Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday)
D-Shift (7pm-7am Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday)
 
Position Summary:The Quality Assurance Technician I is responsible for providing general technical support to the production operation, investigating customer complaints, product performance testing as part of the commercialization and process improvement initiatives, real time testing of in-process material and auditing of existing production processes. As a member of the Quality Assurance Group this individual will proactively work towards improving the quality and service offered to all internal and external customers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:·Follow control plans·Follow test plans·Perform process and product quality audits/inspections·Maintain / collect limit samples·Perform testing and evaluation of suspect material·Support Customer Return complaint investigation·Participate in Gauge R&R studies·Support testing and evaluation of manufacturing qualifications and commercializationof new products / processes·Support problem solving efforts·Support Supplier Quality Activities·Support supplier inspection·Maintain supplier certifications·Assist with QA hold management·Place material on QA hold·Disposition material from QA hold as directed by QA Manager / Principal Quality Technician·Perform monthly audits of QA hold area·Other duties as assigned by Manager

Job Requirements

Skills and Abilities:
· AS degree or equivalent experience providing technical support required.
· Previous technical experience in a lab environment preferred.
· Basic understanding of IIMAK products and production processes.
· Ability to read/interpret product specifications.
· Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Good PC skills.
· Ability to use basic QA measuring equipment with limited assistance.
· Good problem-solving, mathematical and analytical skills.
· Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Internal or external relationships and level of interaction:
· Significant interaction with the entire QA Department employees, Manufacturing Hourly employees and Production Supervisors.
· Some interaction with Planning/Production Scheduling, Customer Service, Document Control,
R & D and Manufacturing Engineering.

Financial Exposure/Responsibility:
· Will assist in determining product acceptability for customer complaints, internal
production, new products and new processes.

Judgment: (Describe the degree to which discretion and judgment are used to take independent action in all matters of significance. Give examples.)
· Ability to determine:
o Product/process acceptability.
o Root cause of defects ie. able to differentiate between coating and slitting defects.
· Understands when to elevate problems and potential problems to Supervision/Management.
· Ability to establish and balance multiple priorities.
· Ability to analyze customer complaints to determine if product(s) will meet customer expectations.
