Job Summary: The Network Engineer role will take direction from the Chief Technology Officer while still working independently to support the client. They will create and build relationships with clients that they interact with on a regular basis. This role will work directly with the Service Desk support team and act as an external resource to their support needs. This role often will be required to provide on-call afterhours support to a revolving set of clients when emergency issues arise on a rotational basis. The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining and administering our clients’ company computer networks. The primary duties will include design and maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, securing data, software, and hardware from potential security attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. The need for the ability to work closely with the users of the network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems. To be successful, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is also a plus.  
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain client relationship with primary contact to ensure best level of communication possible. 
  • Design, Maintain, Implement any technology need the client is requesting to ensure the best network performance possible within budget constraints 
  • Provide a next level of support for the help desk support team. Be the expert level advice the team is seeking when speaking to a client. 
  • Maintain an up to date track of any open tickets and their possible resolution and communication with the client. 
  • Create, maintain and distribute any documentation required on the network infrastructure to ensure highest level of customer service. 
  • When required provide backup to the Help Desk Team to ensure the first level of support is maintained as well as any duties that team is responsible for. 
  • 24/7 on call support (on rotational schedule) 
  • Support other team members

Job Requirements

  • An individual that demonstrates an ownership mindset and has developed a level of experience that encompasses: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience 
  • 5 -10 years’ experience in outsourced IT support, network engineering, VoIP business phone systems 
  • Experience managing oneself with demonstrated experience in consistently re-inventing processes that support the business’ growth 
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems 
  • An individual who stays on the forefront of technological changes as it relates to providing exemplary customer service. 
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Good time management skills 
  • Good communication skills – both written and verbal. 
  • The ability to take on a variety of tasks and pay attention to detail. 
  • O365 / M365 / Azure experience a plus 
  • Microsoft Server and Active Directory setup and management experience required

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
